The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has reaffirmed its leading role in Hajj administration as the state with the highest number of intending pilgrims whose payments have been successfully remitted to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) ahead of the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, this was disclosed during a meeting in Abuja by the Commissioner for Policy, Personnel Management, and Finance (PPMF) at NAHCON, Prince Aliyu Abdulrazak, who confirmed that Kano State recorded the largest remittance among all participating states.
The achievement, according to stakeholders, reflects the Kano State Government’s proactive planning, transparency, and strong institutional coordination in managing Hajj affairs.
Reacting to the development, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, attributed the success to the unwavering support of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and the timely mobilization of resources for intending pilgrims.
He emphasized that Kano has consistently accorded Hajj operations top priority, noting that the latest milestone is a testament to the Board’s commitment to ensuring a smooth, well-organized spiritual journey for all pilgrims from the state.
Alhaji Danbappa also commended the cooperation of intending pilgrims, local government Hajj officers, and the Board’s staff for their dedication and efficiency in meeting NAHCON’s requirements ahead of schedule.
In his remarks, the Chairman of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, congratulated Kano State for setting the standard and urged other states to emulate its early remittance and well-coordinated preparation strategy.
He said such proactive measures contribute greatly to seamless planning and effective logistics for successful Hajj operations.
Kano State’s consistent performance, he added, continues to position it as a model of excellence in Hajj management and pilgrims’ welfare across Nigeria.
