The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has began preparations for airlift of pilgrims back to Nigeria.

An 11-man committee on transport had visited Mu’assasa in Makkah to ensure smooth arrangement for the airlift

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Kebbi State Governor, Ahmad Idris, said Pilgrims from Kebbi were the first to be airlifted from Nigeria on May 15 to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 2024 Hajj exercise.

Ithraa Alkhair Ministry are those saddled with the responsibility of manning the pilgrims data and supply of names of pilgrims to appropriate authorities.

The Secretary, Kebbi Pilgrims Board, Alhaji Sani Abarshi led the delegation to Mu’assasa to ensure smooth flow of the airlift.

The Secretary assured that arrangements were on top gear towards ensuring the success of the exercise right from the first to the ninth plane.

He said the first plane was expected to take-off on June 22.

Members of the committee included; Alhaji Usman DPM, board’s Director Personnel Management, Alhaji Umar Ladan, Director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Others were; Alhaji Yahaya Yahaya, Deputy Director, ICT, Alhaji Faruku Jabbo, Assistant Director ICT, Alhaji Misbahu Aliyu-Mai-Mai, Alhaji Sanusi Zaki-Jimsy and Sheikh Kabiru Wasagu, Staff Officer of the board.
