The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its working relationship with the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, to ensure quality and seamless Hajj and Umrah services for intending pilgrims from Lagos State.

In a statement signed by the Director Public Affairs of the Board, Taofeek Lawal, the Board Secretary, Mr. AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin gave the assurance on Thursday, during a courtesy visit by the Comptroller of Immigration, Lagos State Command, Mr. Christopher Onajinrin, to the Board’s office.
Ajomagberin expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of mutual respect and partnership. He assured the Comptroller that the Board remains committed to sustaining and deepening the cordial relationship between both organisations for the benefit of Lagos pilgrims.
Speaking earlier, Comptroller Onajinrin said the visit was aimed at consolidating the existing cordial relationship, fostering closer collaboration, and discussing areas of mutual interest.
He noted that key areas of focus include facilitating seamless travel documentation processes and addressing operational matters relating to Lagos State pilgrims.
The Comptroller also briefed the Board on additional services rendered by NIS and new initiatives introduced by the Comptroller-General to improve service delivery to Nigerians applying for the International Passport.
He pledged the Command’s readiness to support the Board and intending pilgrims by making passport acquisition and renewal more efficient, secure, and convenient while reducing unnecessary delays.
