India has nominated a Pakistani national for its prestigious Civil Award for his humanitarian and bravery work that saved the lives of over 40 pilgrims during Hajj 2024.

In the previous Hajj season, Asif Bashir, through his voluntary efforts, saved 44 people, including 24 Indian nationals, from the scorching heat.

He saved the lives of the pilgrims despite the absence of immediate medical assistance, bravely escorting the pilgrims to safety.
