Saudi Arabia Begins Early Preparations for 2027 Hajj, Meets Pilgrim Affairs Offices in 78 Countries
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has commenced extensive preparations for the 1448 AH (2027) Hajj season, holding coordination meetings with pilgrim affairs offices from 78 countries.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the meetings form part of the Kingdom’s early Hajj preparation programme aimed at ensuring that arrangements are completed well ahead of the arrival of pilgrims.
During the meetings, the ministry reviewed the progress of preparations with each participating country, including the implementation of the Hajj timetable, procedures for the Comprehensive Package and contracts with approved service providers.
Key areas discussed included accommodation, transportation, catering, group movement arrangements, pilgrims’ awareness and guidance programmes, as well as regulations governing Hajj operations.
The ministry said it is maintaining continuous follow-up with pilgrim affairs offices to monitor their readiness, identify potential challenges at an early stage and resolve them before they affect operations.
It added that each phase of the preparation process has clearly defined responsibilities, deadlines and measurable targets to ensure a smooth transition from planning to actual Hajj operations.
Electronic Track Used for Overseas Arrangements
For pilgrims coming from outside Saudi Arabia, contracts and other arrangements are being processed through the Electronic Track, a digital platform designed to streamline Hajj procedures.
The platform provides more than 500 digital services and is connected to over 80 government and operational entities, as well as more than 5,000 service providers.
According to SPA, the system facilitates procedures, documents service contracts and strengthens coordination between pilgrim affairs offices, service providers and relevant Saudi authorities.
Preparation Began After 1447 Hajj
Preparations for the 1448 AH Hajj season officially began on 12 Dhul Hijjah 1447, immediately after the conclusion of the previous Hajj season.
The ministry provided pilgrim affairs offices with the Preparation Document and the official timetable for the new season. This was followed by a comprehensive assessment of the previous Hajj operations to identify areas requiring improvement.
The Preparation Document outlines the various stages of preparation, responsibilities of the concerned parties and approved deadlines, enabling the ministry to monitor implementation and ensure that all requirements are completed within the stipulated time.
The early preparations are aimed at enhancing coordination, improving service delivery and ensuring a more organised Hajj experience for pilgrims arriving from around the world.
