Emergency responders of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority have successfully revived a 54-year-old Indonesian pilgrim who suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest at the southern courtyard of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

The Director-General of the authority’s Madinah branch, Ahmed Al-Zahrani, disclosed that the emergency operations center received a distress call at approximately 5:28 a.m. on Wednesday, reporting a critical medical situation at the mosque’s premises.
According to him, specialized emergency teams were immediately deployed, arriving at the scene within one minute and five seconds. On assessment, the pilgrim was found to be in cardiac and respiratory arrest.
He explained that responders promptly administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) using advanced life-support equipment, with additional units providing backup to ensure swift intervention.
The patient’s pulse was successfully restored at the scene before he was transported to Al-Salam Hospital for further medical attention.
Al-Zahrani attributed the successful rescue to the rapid response time and high level of preparedness of the emergency teams, noting that their timely intervention was crucial in saving the pilgrim’s life.
