The Yobe State Pilgrims Commission has launched the 2026 vaccination exercise for intending pilgrims.
The flag-off ceremony, held at the commission’s conference hall, is part of preparations for this year’s pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
The launch marks the final stage of efforts by the commission to airlift the state’s pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj.
Speaking to journalists after the launch, the commission’s chairman, Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman Biriri, said the first flight of Yobe State’s intending pilgrims is scheduled for May 11, 2026.
He praised the turnout of intending pilgrims for the vaccination, noting that the exercise is taking place simultaneously across the 17 local government areas of the state.
