The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has concluded arrangements to provide specially prepared meals for pilgrims living with diabetes during the 2026 Hajj exercise, as part of efforts to safeguard their health and overall well-being.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Habibu Yusuf Babura, said the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, disclosed this while inspecting activities at the medical screening centre at Dutse General Hospital.

He explained that the initiative is designed to ensure that pilgrims with specific medical conditions, particularly diabetes, receive adequate dietary support throughout the pilgrimage.

According to him, the Board places high priority on the health and welfare of all intending pilgrims and remains committed to implementing proactive measures that will guarantee a smooth and safe Hajj experience.

Alhaji Labbo further revealed that the Board has already made arrangements to provide three meals daily for pilgrims a welfare package he described as distinctive to Jigawa State’s Hajj operations.

He expressed appreciation to the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, for his approval and sustained support toward initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the state’s pilgrims.
