JALAL VISIT TO CONSOLATE

As the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) concludes its activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the 2024 Hajj, Chairman/CEO Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi led a delegation of the commission to Nigeria’s Consulate-General in Jeddah on Thursday.

According to Arabi, the visit aimed to express gratitude to the Consulate and Embassy for their cooperation and support during the 2024 Hajj operations, and to seek further assistance in facilitating the return of Nigerians still in Saudi Arabia due to police cases or hospital admissions.

The Acting Consul-General, Ambassador Ibrahim Sule Dan-Agundi, appreciated the visit and assured the Consulate’s commitment to addressing all requests made by the Chairman.

Accompanying the chairman on the visit were NAHCON’s Commissioners overseeing Operations, Information and Library Services (Prince Anofiu Elegushi), Policy, Personnel and Finance (Abdulrazak Aliyu), the Commission’s Secretary, and senior management staff.

In another development, an association of social service workers under The Injaz Group visited NAHCON Chairman/CEO Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi at its Ummul Jood office in Makkah for a working visit on Thursday.

During the visit, the group presented a digital report of their activities at the Masha’ir—the holy sites at Muna, Arafat, and Muzdalifa—during this year’s Hajj.

They also provided an e-copy of the report to Ithra al Khair Service Providers engaged in meeting the needs of Nigerian pilgrims this year.

Led by Dr. Ishaq during the visit to the NAHCON Chairman, the group expressed hope that the report submitted to the commission would assist in future planning.

According to NAHCON Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Fatima Sanda Usara, the group was engaged by Ithra al Khair Mu’assasa in distributing meals to Nigerian pilgrims throughout their stay at the holy sites of Masha’ir.

Usara mentioned that the group had collaborated earlier with NAHCON’s Dr. Aliyu Tanko and the Mu’assasa in planning for sufficient food distribution during the five-day Hajj period.
