The inauguration, which took place on Wednesday, was presided over by the Executive Chairman of the Agency, Malam Salihu Abubakar, who disclosed that the committees comprise 75 members carefully selected to oversee various aspects of the Hajj operation.
According to Abubakar, the formation of the committees received the approval of Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, reflecting the administration’s commitment to the welfare of pilgrims from the state.
The committees will handle critical areas such as medical services, accommodation and welfare, finance, catering and Hadaya, media and publicity, report writing, security and special services, as well as inbound and outbound operations in Jeddah. Others include luggage and weighing, stores, and reception duties in both Makkah and Madinah.
Abubakar noted that the primary responsibility of the committees is to support the agency in ensuring the comfort, safety, and spiritual fulfillment of the pilgrims. He added that members have been thoroughly briefed and equipped with operational guidelines.
He charged all committee members to discharge their duties with dedication, transparency, and the fear of God.
The chairman also revealed that a total of 4,061 pilgrims from Kaduna State are expected to participate in this year’s Hajj.
Meanwhile, the agency has announced that transportation of the state’s pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will commence on May 14, 2025.
