As part of early preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has selected about 60 teachers to conduct weekly Hajj induction courses for intending pilgrims across the state.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, said the selection was announced during a meeting with the instructors held at the Board’s headquarters in Kano.
The teachers are to be deployed to 10 designated induction centres to ensure effective and comprehensive orientation of pilgrims ahead of the pilgrimage.
Speaking at the meeting, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, said the initiative was aimed at equipping intending pilgrims with adequate knowledge of Hajj rites and procedures to ensure a smooth and hitch-free exercise.
He explained that the induction centres are located at the School for Arabic Studies and in Ungogo, Gwarzo, Bichi, Rimin-Gado, Wudil, Gezawa, Kura, Rano and Tudun Wada Local Government Areas.
Danbappa, who was represented by the Head of Bita and Board Member, Malam Tijjani Sani Maihula, urged the instructors to discharge their duties with dedication, discipline and professionalism, stressing that proper induction remains critical to the success of the Hajj operation.
Also speaking, the Director of Propagation, Education and Enlightenment, Alhaji Murtala Lawan Sani, called on the teachers to uphold the standards of the Board and properly guide intending pilgrims on the rites of Hajj in line with Islamic teachings and regulations of relevant authorities.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to early preparation and capacity building, noting that such measures are aimed at improving the welfare and overall performance of Kano State pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj.
