Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced a statewide sensitization tour to educate intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj on the importance of early payment of Hajj deposits to avoid missing the Saudi Arabian deadline.
The sensitization team, led by the Board’s Director of Finance, Alhaji Al’amin Bawa, visited Warji, Ningi and Kafin Madaki, where they met with intending pilgrims, traditional rulers, religious leaders and other stakeholders.
Addressing participants during the meetings, Alhaji Al’amin Bawa urged intending pilgrims to pay their Hajj deposits without delay, stressing that Saudi Arabia has already announced timelines for the closure of Hajj payments and visa processing.
He explained that once the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia fixes a deadline, it does not extend it, warning that failure to make the required deposit before the closing date could deny intending pilgrims the opportunity to perform the 2027 Hajj.
Alhaji Al’amin Bawa therefore appealed to all intending pilgrims to take advantage of the available period by making their deposits as early as possible to enable the Board complete all necessary arrangements on time.
He also called on traditional rulers, district and village heads, as well as Islamic scholars and community leaders, to support the Board by disseminating the information to the public, particularly during Friday sermons, so that no intending pilgrim is left uninformed.
Speaking on behalf of the Chairman of Warji Local Government, the Acting Head of Administration, Alhaji Kawu Chadi, commended the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for taking the sensitization campaign to the grassroots and assured the local government’s support towards a successful exercise.
At the end of the visit, Alhaji Al’amin Bawa expressed appreciation to the leadership of the visited local government areas for their cooperation and commitment towards ensuring the success of the sensitization exercise.
