Haramain Express Trains Introduce Non-Stop Makkah–Madinah Service
Travellers between Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Madinah Al-Munawwarah can now enjoy faster journeys as the Haramain High Speed Railway introduces direct, non-stop services between the two holy cities.
The express service completes the Makkah–Madinah journey in approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, without stopping at intermediate stations in Jeddah or King Abdullah Economic City.
Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) is also operating a second non-stop service linking King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah directly with Madinah, providing added convenience for pilgrims and other travellers.
The railway operator is promoting the services as “Express Trips Without Stops” and has encouraged passengers to book their journeys in advance.
The Haramain High Speed Railway stretches approximately 453 kilometres and operates at speeds of up to 300 kilometres per hour.
The railway has five stations: Makkah, Jeddah Al-Sulaimaniyah, King Abdulaziz International Airport, King Abdullah Economic City, and Madinah.
The introduction of the non-stop services is expected to make travel between the two holy cities quicker and more convenient, particularly for Umrah pilgrims and visitors.
