The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, has announced the commencement date for medical screening and immunization of all intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, the Director General made this known today while supervising activities at the Hajj Training Center in Gwarzo Local Government Area. He stated that the exercise will begin on Monday, 9th February 2026, and will take place at the Pilgrims Camp Clinic (Hajj Camp), Kano.

Alhaji Abubakar Matawalle, who was represented by the Director of Propagation, Education and Enlightenment, Alhaji Murtala Lawan Sani, emphasized that strict compliance with all rules and regulations of the Board would ensure a smooth and successful Hajj operation.
He explained that the exercise will include comprehensive medical screening, routine immunization, and pregnancy tests for female pilgrims.
Speaking on the Hajj Induction Course, the Director General urged pilgrims to be attentive and dedicated to their instructors in order to properly understand how to perform their Ibadat while in the Holy Land.

Intending pilgrims were also advised to strictly adhere to their flight schedules and remain within the groups assigned to their respective Local Government Areas.
The monitoring team also visited the Gwarzo and Rimin Gado Local Government Areas respectively.
