The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has appealed to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to take proactive measures aimed at preventing delays in the airlift of intending pilgrims for the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, said this call was made by the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, during a courtesy visit by a NAHCON delegation to Kano.
Matawalle stated that the Board has concluded all necessary logistical and administrative arrangements for the state’s intending pilgrims, stressing that timely transportation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains critical to the success of the Hajj operation.
According to him, any delay by air carriers could disrupt the smooth flow of activities and cause avoidable hardship for pilgrims.
“We have put all necessary measures in place for our pilgrims and are optimistic that the airlift process will be conducted without hitches or delays,” he said.
In his remarks, the leader of the NAHCON delegation and Commissioner representing the North-West Zone, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Usman, explained that the visit was part of an ongoing nationwide inspection of Hajj facilities.
He disclosed that the team had visited several states within the zone to evaluate the level of preparedness and ensure that facilities meet the required standards for pilgrims’ comfort and safety.
Sheikh Bin Usman assured the Kano Board that its concerns, particularly regarding possible delays by airlines, would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities at NAHCON headquarters for necessary action.
Also speaking, the NAHCON Zonal Director for Kano, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Kalgo, commended the Board for its high level of preparedness and organization.
He urged the Board to maintain its efforts in educating and sensitizing intending pilgrims, especially through comprehensive Hajj orientation programmes.
