The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has unveiled the official flight schedule for its 2026 intending pilgrims, signaling intensified preparations for the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Mohd Nasir Bala, said the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, disclosed this during a press briefing at his office, where he highlighted key updates and developments surrounding the pilgrimage.
Dr. Idris explained that applicants whose names were not included in the final list have been provided with two options: to either defer their payments to the next Hajj exercise or apply for a refund through the board.
He clarified that the situation was beyond the control of the state board, attributing it to a directive from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, which reduced Nigeria’s Hajj allocation.
According to him, the initial quota of 95,000 pilgrims was slashed by 41,000, affecting intending pilgrims across the country.
The Executive Secretary noted that the reduction is part of a broader global adjustment impacting several nations, and urged prospective pilgrims to verify their names on the approved list.
Appealing for patience and understanding, Dr. Idris assured affected applicants that the board remains committed to transparency and fairness.
He further announced that the distribution of uniforms and travel bags to successful pilgrims will commence on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Providing an update on participation, Dr. Idris revealed that Bauchi State has recorded a total of 2,086 registered pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj.
He also emphasized the importance of adhering strictly to newly introduced guidelines by Saudi authorities, stressing that compliance is essential throughout the pilgrimage period.
The Executive Secretary advised intending pilgrims to stay updated through official communication channels, including radio announcements, social media platforms, and their respective local government Hajj offices.
