Muslims wishing to perform the 2027 Hajj have been advised to hasten their registration and payment processes ahead of the deadline set by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
In a statement by the Head of Information and Communications of the Agency, Faruku Umar, the Chief Imam of Uthman Bn Affan Jumu’at Mosque, Gawon Nama, Sokoto, Sheikh Yahuza Shehu Tambuwal, gave the advice in his Friday sermon.
Sheikh Yahuza, who is also the Head of Da’awah and Irshad Unit of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, explained that the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has fixed September 26, 2026, as the deadline for the registration of intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj.
He therefore urged Muslims wishing to undertake the pilgrimage to take all necessary steps to complete their registration before the expiration of the deadline.
The Islamic scholar further emphasized the need for all intending pilgrims who have already made payments for the 2027 Hajj to submit their valid International Passports to the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency without delay.
He stressed that timely submission of the required documents is essential for the successful completion of the registration process and to avoid any last-minute difficulties.
The two-rak’ah Friday prayer was attended by the Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, alongside the Director of Operations, Alhaji Abubakar Chika, as well as thousands of worshippers.
The Agency therefore reiterates its call on all intending pilgrims to complete their registration requirements and submit their valid International Passports as soon as possible.
