The authorities of Masjid an-Nabawi (Prophet’s Mosque) in Madinah have introduced a new identification system for shoe racks to make it easier for worshippers to locate and retrieve their footwear.
Under the new arrangement, the racks now carry a combination of letters and numbers, replacing the previous numbering-only system. For example, a rack may now be identified as C-031.
Another notable change is the introduction of coloured labels. Unlike the previous system, where rack numbers were printed only in black, the new identification codes use different colours, with some appearing in red.
The changes are part of efforts to improve the organisation and identification of shoe racks within the Prophet’s Mosque, particularly as large numbers of worshippers visit the mosque daily.
Previously, each shoe rack was identified solely by a number printed in black, without a letter prefix or colour coding.
