The Niger State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board has received an inspection team from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), led by the Commissioner representing the North Central Zone, Professor Muhammad Umar Ndagi, as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj airlift operations.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Jibrin Usman Kodo, said the inspection, conducted on Saturday, April 6, 2026, assessed key infrastructure at the Minna Hajj Camp, which is designated to serve intending pilgrims from the 25 Local Government Areas of Niger State.
During the visit, the NAHCON team was taken round the facilities by the management of the Board. The team expressed satisfaction with several aspects of the camp, particularly the spacious accommodation, as well as the availability of a reliable water supply system.
However, the delegation also identified areas requiring urgent attention. These include minor repairs to the perimeter fence and improvements in the camp’s security architecture, which they noted are critical to ensuring the safety and comfort of pilgrims during the airlift period.
Speaking on behalf of the Board, the Director of Administration, Malam Ado Bello, who led the management team during the inspection, assured that all observations made by the NAHCON team would be addressed promptly.
He commended the Commission for its continuous support and guidance, reaffirming the Board’s commitment to maintaining a standard Hajj camp in readiness for the 2026 Hajj operations, expected to commence next month.
It will be recalled that the Minna Hajj Camp has remained a strategic operational hub since 2015, successfully facilitating Hajj activities and contributing significantly to the smooth coordination of pilgrim movements over the years.
