Flagging off the exercise at the Board’s premises, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, said the items were allocated to officials across five designated pay-point centres.

These include the Pilgrims Board Set 1, Government officials Set 2, the 20 Local Government Areas Set 3, the Department for Local Government Set 4, and the Hajj Savings Scheme HSS Centre Set 5.

In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, the Executive Secretary He urged officials at the centres to ensure that only verified pilgrims receive the items, stressing the need for transparency and accountability in the distribution process.
Dr. Idris explained that the uniforms and bags were procured using funds contributed by pilgrims under the local component.
He added that each pilgrim would receive two large bags with a combined capacity of 23 kilograms.
The Executive Secretary further highlighted new regulations introduced by Saudi Arabian Hajj authorities, noting that pilgrims would be allowed to travel with only one bag to the airport.
He therefore advised pilgrims against carrying additional luggage beyond what was provided.
Earlier, the Director of Administration and Human Resources of the Board, Murtala Muhammad Bawa said the initiative was aimed at ensuring proper equipping of pilgrims and urged beneficiaries to make appropriate use of the items.
In his remarks, the Emir of Lere, Alhaji Nuri Adamu Jumba, called on officials assigned to serve pilgrims to treat them with dignity and respect, and to ensure timely and orderly distribution of the materials.
