The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has reiterated the compulsory use of the Nusuk ID Card for all intending pilgrims from the state participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise.
In a statement signed by the Head of Information and Public Relations of the Board, Faruku Umar, said this directive was emphasized during the Agency’s ongoing pilgrims’ education and sensitization campaign, which recently held in Tambuwal Local Government Area and is being extended to Kebbe and Shagari Local Government Areas.
Addressing participants at the session, the Head of Information and Communications, Faruku Umar, described the Nusuk ID Card as an essential requirement for pilgrims, noting that it will serve as the only authorized means of access into Makkah, the Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque), and other designated holy sites. He stressed that any pilgrim without the card will not be allowed entry into these locations.
Faruku Umar also highlighted the importance of Tafweej, a structured movement system that groups pilgrims in batches of 45 to enhance coordination, safety, and efficiency throughout the Hajj operations.
In addition, Islamic scholars at the event delivered lectures on Manasik (Hajj rites), offering guidance on the proper performance of rituals and other key procedures necessary for a successful and spiritually rewarding pilgrimage.
The Agency therefore called on all intending pilgrims to strictly comply with the laid-down guidelines and instructions to ensure a smooth and hitch-free Hajj exercise.
